At the heart of Toronto’s Union Station Revitalization Project was the “dig down” of a new pedestrian level below the existing concourse. This involved the temporary – then permanent – supporting of the numerous existing rail tracks on temporary shoring and the removal of the existing concourse level slabs and existing column foundations and the subsequent excavation of the new pedestrian level environment. Pearson Consulting’s client was responsible for all aspects of this dig down scope of work.
